A game night plan that works for any group.
The best game nights start easy, build energy, and end before anyone is bored. Here is a simple running order using games you can play on one phone or on everyone’s phones.
Easy warm-up, fair teams, loud middle, calm quiz ending. Keep turns short and let anyone skip a card.
Warm up with something everyone can win
Start with a quick round that needs no skill: Would you rather or This or that. Everyone answers, nobody is wrong, and it gets quieter guests talking. Ten minutes is enough.
Split into teams fairly
If you want teams, type everyone’s name into the random team picker and shuffle in front of the group, so nobody feels picked last. Teams of three or four work best for charades and Heads up.
Raise the energy with acting and guessing
Charades and Heads up are the loudest part of the night. Keep turns to one minute, rotate who acts, and keep a running score. Both work on a single phone passed around the room.
Bring everyone’s phone in
For bigger groups, a party room lets everyone vote on their own phone with a 6-letter code. Most likely to and Never have I ever work well here because answers stay secret until the reveal.
Finish with a quiz
End with a trivia quiz on the TV or a laptop: one person reads, teams answer on paper, and the answer key on each quiz page settles any arguments.
Keep it kind
All Funmello decks are written to be friendly for mixed ages, but you know your group. Skip any card that would embarrass someone, and let people pass without explaining why.
