Random Team Picker

  1. Type or paste the names, one per line.
  2. Choose how many teams you want.
  3. Tap Make teams. Shuffle again or copy the result to share.
HOW IT WORKS

The rules in detail

Names are shuffled with your browser’s cryptographic random-number generator and dealt out like cards, so team sizes never differ by more than one (10 names in 3 teams gives 4, 3 and 3). Blank lines and repeated names are removed, and you can use up to 60 names and 2 to 10 teams. Your list is remembered in this browser only; nothing is sent to Funmello.

Tips

  • Ask for as many teams as you have captains, then let captains pick team names.
  • Shuffle again in front of everyone so the split is clearly random.
  • Use Copy teams to paste the result into a group chat.

Privacy controls

Core features use a necessary session cookie. Your theme choice, explicitly bookmarked tool IDs and saved pet-name favourites are stored on this device. Calculator and game inputs are not stored by the site.

Funmello is free because public pages show Google ads. Google’s consent message asks visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland (and offers US state opt-outs) before personalised ads are used. Accounts, shortlists, polls and the name studio never load ad code, and nothing you type into a game or calculator is sent to Google.
